Before the children arrive, we set out planned activities for them to play with and explore. The children are able to move around the Playgroup and choose from the activities on offer. Activities can be changed on the request of a child. Activities are organized to underpin the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Activities include:

  • Arts and crafts to include painting, drawing, collage, and junk modelling and experimenting with different techniques, using different mediums and tools.
  • Books, stories and listening activities.
  • Imaginative play.
  • Discussions and Sharing.
  • Sand, Water and Dough.
  • Manipulative Toys, Games, and Puzzles.
  • Construction both large and small.

We set up a Snack Bar during the session where selections of Healthy foods/drinks are offered to the children. The children can decide when to visit the Snack Bar and make their own choices in what they like to eat/drink.

Towards the end of the session the children can take part in a group activity such as songs, and rhymes, music and games and a story.

There is no outside area so we go out on a daily basis to the local park, the one o’clock club and the sports centre.
